Michael N. Curran, Partner

Michael Curran founded Curran Partners, Inc. in 1989. He has successfully conducted executive search assignments in a broad range of sectors and functional disciplines. In the process he has developed professional relationships with a network of trusted executives who play a key role in identifying and reaching exceptional performers. With each new engagement that network is refreshed, refined and expanded.

In addition to participating in management of the firm and leading client assignments, he was elected in 2008 to the three-person executive committee of the ECI Group, the global search organization of which Curran Partners, Inc. is the U.S. partner. As committee member he coordinates efforts to identify and connect with internationally-recognized leaders in a range of sectors, structures service for international clients, and ensures quality in cross-border executive recruiting.

Before entering executive search he pursued a career in consumer products marketing, including seven years with the Pepsi-Cola Company at headquarters in Purchase, New York. Prior to Pepsi, he was a marketing consultant with the Institute for Industrial Research and Standards (now EOLAS) in Dublin. He is a native of Ireland and holds B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York. He served two years in the U.S. Army, as a member of the Third Infantry Division, stationed in Germany.

Valerie Riddle, MD, FACP, Partner

Dr. Valerie Riddle joined Curran Partners in March 2011. She began her medical career as an Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease physician at Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC, where she focused on the clinical care of patients with HIV/AIDS. In 1998, she became a physician executive in drug development, joining MedImmune, Inc., a rapidly-growing biotechnology company. During thirteen years in the corporate sector she has led clinical development, medical affairs and project management. Most recently, she was medical director of PharmAthene, Inc., leading the development of the company's portfolio of biodefense therapeutics.

Valarie graduated cum laude from the University of South Florida with a BA in Chemistry in 1984; she received her MD from the University of South Florida in May 1989. In addition to finishing residency in Internal Medicine at Washington Hospital Center in 1993, she remained with the same institution to complete an internship in Family Medicine in 1990, serve as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine in 1994, and complete a fellowship in Infectious Diseases in 1996. She has been board certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.

Thomas J. Vos, Partner

Prior to entering executive search, Tom held executive positions in the business-to-business sector, with providers of information content and business services.

As president and board member of EDGAR Online, a provider of corporate information, Tom led the company from start-up through a successful IPO. Prior to EDGAR, he was chief marketing officer and head of seed capital investment with Bowne & Co., Inc., a leader in financial printing, marketing and business communications services. He guided the company's investment in EDGAR Online and played a key role in the start-up and early-stage growth of the company. His involvement deepened and eventually led to his joining EDGAR as president and director. Earlier in his career, Tom held marketing, strategic planning, and network engineering positions with AT&T and GTE.

Tom is a member of the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA). He holds a B.S. degree in physics from the University of Notre Dame, an M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Ohio State University and an M.B.A. degree in marketing from Pace University. He is a native of Minnesota and a member of the board of directors of the Discovery Museum, Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Whitney S. Dooley, Director of Research

Whitney began her professional career by joining Curran Partners in 1993, upon completion of her undergraduate studies. As head of research she plays an important role in analyzing target sector institutions, identifying highly-regarded leaders, and building profiles of their professional careers. She is directly engaged in candidate development activities and in the execution and management of client assignments. With several years experience in identifying, reaching, engaging and cultivating exceptional candidates across several sectors and disciplines, she is an essential leader and team member in achieving successful assignment completion. A Connecticut native, Whitney earned a B.A. from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, and an M.A. from the University of New Hampshire.

Andrea Kerin, Director of Operations

Whitney S. Dooley Andrea is centrally involved in search execution. She is an active team member in all stages of assignment progress, including client service, sector research, candidate development, communication and scheduling. She identifies, cultivates and engages directly with well-placed executive contacts and prospective candidates, and she interacts closely at various levels of client organizations in the management of assignment logistics. In addition to her role in search execution, she is responsible for the day-to-day operational, financial and administrative affairs of the firm. Prior to joining Curran Partners she spent several years in private accounting with a focus on commercial real estate and retailing. She is a native of Connecticut and a graduate of the University of Connecticut.
