Stamford, CT – June 5, 2008 -- We are pleased to announce the completion of a retained assignment to recruit a Vice President of Marketing on behalf of our valued client, Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Bethesda, MD. The successful candidate, Mr. Stephen J. Piron, has joined the company.

Most recently, Mr. Piron headed NPVBio, in Washington, DC, a consulting firm focused on evaluating and recommending commercialization strategies for emerging biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. His prior experience at Pfizer US included Team Leader for the Migraine Business Unit and Director, US Marketing Strategic Operations. Mr. Piron was awarded a B.S. by Providence College, in Rhode Island, and an M.B.A by the University of Notre Dame Graduate School of Business, in Indiana.

Sucampo Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a specialty biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Bethesda, MD, focuses on the development and commercialization of medicines based on prostones.
